Vasantotsav

Naadvistaar presents Vasantotsav, a joyous welcoming of spring showcasing an exquisite display of Indian classical arts and music by talented young performers. The event shall feature vocalist Aparajita Chakraborty, accompanied by Romandas on Pakhavaj, followed by a kathak recital by dancer Aishwarya Verma.
Aparajita Chakraborty is an Indian classical vocalist trained by renowned musicians such as Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar and the Gundecha Bandhu. A dynamic young artist, she began her musical journey at age 6 with Rabindra Sangeet before going on to learn khayal, dhrupad and related forms. Aparajita’s rich cultural background and rigorous training have enabled her to evolve into a fine musician.
Aparajita will be accompanied on the Pakhavaj by Romandas. Initially a khol and folk instrument percussionist, he went on to train in classical music and the pakhawaj under Pt. Fateh Singh Gangani and Pt. Akhilesh Gundecha. His blend of skill, creativity, and tradition is sure to complement Aparajita's soulful rendition.
The event also features Aishwarya Verma. An emerging kathak dancer she began her initial training at age 5 under Ms. Shakti Singh and went on to learn from well known exponents such as Pt. Rajendra Gangani, Guru Prerna Shrimali, and Ms. Gauri Diwakar. With over a decade of stage experience behind her, Aishwarya has performed nationally and internationally, including in the Indian Musical Broadway ‘Mughal-e-azam.'
Naadvistaar’s Vasantotsav promises to be a feast for the senses with a masterful display of Indian classical arts and dance. Don’t miss out on this celebration of the colours of spring and our diverse musical heritage. The event is open to one and all interested in the rich culture and traditional festivals of India.
