Karavan-E-Ghazal

Traditionally invoking love, melancholy, longing, and metaphysical questions, ghazals have their roots in 7th-century Arabia.
Ustad Salamat Ji hails from the lineage of Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan and Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, founders of the Kirana Gharana.
He composes and sings incredible songs and is credited for the revival and popularity of ghazals by choosing poetry that is relevant to the masses and composing them in a way that lays more emphasis on the meaning of words and the melody evoked by them.
Apart from being a great Ghazal singer, he is also a tremendous harmonium player, performing on stages across the world, from the US to London.
Join us at Naadvistaar as we present a memorable baithak to embrace the charm of Ghazals with Salamat Ji, accompanied by Saleem Ahmad on tabla and Nafees Ahmad on sarangi.
We request that you make a suggested donation at the venue that goes towards the preservation of Indian musical heritage and the upliftment of such amazingly talented artists.
