Jugalbandi

Jugalbandi, translated as “entwined twins," is a performance in Indian classical music that features a duet of two solo musicians. It is a subtle art that demands alertness and spontaneity. Like the waves of the ocean that come one after another and then melt into each other, there is no certainty in Jugalbandi. The artists listen to each other attentively, and a novel presentation is created on the spot.

Shibeet Prasanna hails from the Banaras Gharana and plays the flute, an instrument associated with Lord Krishna. Having learned from his grandfather, Pandit Vishnu Prasanna, Shibeet is well known for his incredible melodies, fluency, and dexterity in his performances.

Sameer Khan comes from the musical family of Ajrada Gharana, which was set up in a small village called "Ajrada" in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Since his childhood, he has studied tabla with the late Ustad Majnu Khan.
